Kitchen & Primary Bath Renovation in Sorrento Valley
The homeowners renovated their kitchen and upstairs bathroom while living out of town. We ran the project for them, with daily photo updates and decisions made together remotely, and delivered both rooms finished.
Upstairs bathroom: full demo of the flooring, shower, tub, soffit and vanities. We expanded the shower footprint with tile to 8 feet, added a Schluter waterproofing system, and installed a freestanding tub with a tile surround.
Kitchen: removed the old tile floor, cabinets and countertops, then reframed the wall next to the refrigerator for a 30-inch oven and patched a large section of the 12-foot ceiling.
Installed the homeowners’ new cabinets, about 190 sq ft of 12x24 floor tile, and new LED canless lights in place of the old can lights.
Reinstalled the appliances, added an under-sink water filtration system, and coordinated the countertop contractor and electrician.
Laundry room: installed new base and upper cabinets with a sink.
Took on additional tile and demo work found once walls and floors were opened up, approved with the homeowners as we went.
Managing It Remotely
The owners were out of town the whole time
We sent frequent photo updates and worked through decisions with the homeowners every day, so they always knew where things stood without having to be there.
“Greg and his team were there every step of the way with prompt communication, frequent photo updates, and excellent communication on the decisions we needed to make on a daily basis… an absolutely gorgeous result in both spaces with incredible attention to detail.”
