Water-Damaged Kitchen Restoration & Remodel in Downtown San Diego
A water leak left this downtown condo kitchen down to the subfloor. We put it back together better than before, with new cabinets, quartz countertops and backsplash, and continuous new flooring.
Protected the unit and common areas, then removed the damaged cabinets, countertops and flooring.
Replaced the flood-cut drywall, matched the texture and repainted the affected walls.
Installed new light wood flat-panel kitchen cabinets.
Installed new quartz countertops with a full-height quartz backsplash and an undermount sink.
Laid about 350 sq ft of new vinyl plank flooring, continuous from the kitchen into the living room.
Installed new baseboards in the affected areas.
Reset the sink plumbing and reinstalled the range, microwave hood and refrigerator.
What Made It Tricky
Working in a downtown condo building
This building has strict requirements for contractors, so scheduling, access, protection and cleanup all had to follow the building’s rules on top of the work itself. We handled that coordination so the homeowner didn’t have to.
